Introducing MPL Book Awards

Starting November 1st, 2024 Madison Public Library is hosting a Book Awards reading program.

 

What are the book awards?

Book awards are a way for you to voice your vote on unique lists of books that offer a wide range of topics and encourages being adventurous in your reading!

The lists are in 6 different age groups, from pre-K to adults.

How do they work? 
1) Pick a Book

  • Choose which book you would like to read

    • You do NOT have to read all of them

  • Take a ballot for EACH book

  • If you’ve already read a book on the list - awesome!

    • Please fill out a ballot without having to reread it

  • In the library: The brackets are an optional bonus activity

2) Read the Book

3) Vote for the Book

  • In the library: Use the QR code on the ballot, poster, or check the box on the ballot for a librarian to vote for you

  • Click on the category link below To Vote! 

4) Return the Book

  • Bring the book back so others can enjoy it!

  • Please return a physical BALLOT (even if you voted online)

    • In April, there will be a drawing for Mad Money from EACH category of returned ballots

    • Adult books ONLY will also have a drawing for most books read

    • Please make sure your first and last name is on the ballot!

5) Check out another Book

  • Read another book that’s up for vote, or pick a book from our wide selection!

  • Make sure to check out Libby and Hoopla for some awesome online materials!
